Call to order and Welcome – Bob C Excuse: Bruce Morrison, Jim Liner and Bob Nemitz
Approval of Sept 18 email minutes: Motion by Ken and second by Margaret
Bob gave a report on the Billings meeting with MTAO USBR held on Sept 20 to inform the public of the possible options for Yellowtail Dam winter river releases. It was a very informative and useful meeting where everyone was a contributor. We gave out copies of the new BHLake map to all desiring one. FOBHL were well represented and we thank all who came.
Ken presented the Bresnan TV ads information to be used in the Bighorn Basin and the Billings area next year. We will be spending $300/month for ads, as can local businesses who desire to participate. There are several options available for us and other businesses. The basic expense for a 30 second ad is: $3.50/ad in Billings and $1.00/ad in Powell and Cody. We are looking to see what TCT West can do for us in their broadcast area. FOBHL just finished a series in Billings and had good reports of listener ship. We will have a summer and a fall/winter series of ads in order to promote year around recreation at Bighorn Canyon. We will be inviting our members to provide photos to be used in these ads.
Powell Tribune editorial 10/02/07. Several of our FOBHL members had a discussion with the Tribune leadership expressing disappointment for their supporting more water for the downstream fishery. It appeared as though they were not well informed on ALL the issues.
We began a discussion to consider additional board members, several names were presented. The board will continue this discussion next month.
We continued a review of our corrected proposed Bylaws. There is hope we can finish them up soon.
Wyoming Travel and Tourism web site has allowed us several listings which we feel will help promote BHLake in the future. Our promo DVD will be on line there soon.
There will be a Bighorn River System, Long-Term Issues Working Group Meeting in Lovell Thursday Oct 18 at the Cal Taggart NPS Visitor Center. We invite all to attend the day long event. You can come as interest dictates. The agenda will be emailed to everyone this week.
