BighornLake Celebration:
Each director reported on their assignments, some follow up is needed but over all we are on schedule. Directors were encouraged to keep each other informed by email or phone as assignments are finished or assistance is needed.
A report on Cody and Powell Home shows was given by David and Bob N. Both shows gave opportunity to inform many folks of BICA, share new lake maps and FOBHL membership signup forms. There were 18 helpers donating 44 hours of time in the two booths.
FYI
There is a new Wyo Game and Fish Warden in the Lovell area Rick King. We will meet with him soon to help him become familiar with the FOBHL organization.
The repair work on the YT Dam is proceeding on schedule. We will get another report at the next conference call on May 19.
The Kane ramp was cleaned under the direction of BICA by GK Construction and washed by the Lovell Volunteer Fire Dept last week. The south causeway ramp will not be cleaned; more discussion is needed as to how to salvage this ramp.
The New well bid is at the Wyo DEQ office in Lander for approval with hopes of getting a well driller already in YNP to put in the well this summer.
The new Horseshoe Bend dock will be installed around June 1 and portions of the old dock will be placed at the Kane Ramp and JimCreek bay near the portable restroom.
Walleyes will no longer be stocked in BighornLake by MT or WY in order to keep the sauger population genetics pure. An official announcement in the media is forth coming.
BICA crews located the Horseshoe Bend log boom buoys cables and new white buoys were installed. The log boom and the courtesy docks can now be installed.
The ML ramp road is under construction with the ramp concrete to be poured when the river is low later this summer (late July)
Wyo G & F will be doing their spring fish sampling in BighornLake in early June.
Several VIPs have been interviewed to work at BICA in the coming weeks. This will provide more visitor contact personal.
Starting on May 1Horseshoe Bend Camp ground had water and 50 amp electrical services available for $15 per day.
The 14,000 Bighorn Lake Celebration 4” x 9” colored rake cards will be handed out in the area the weekends of May 21-23 and June 11-13.
The new updated BICA campground regulations were emailed to all FOBHL members recently and are also available at BICA locations in the park. Take special note as to the pet regulations.
The board decided not to get involved in the Wyo Dot adopt a highway program presently. We already have more than enough to keep on top of.
The next FOBHL Board meeting will be in Powell June 9 at 6:30pm.
