FRIENDS OF BIGHORNLAKE CATFISH TOURNAMENT CHALLENGE

RULES

 
WHEN: Meeting begins at 7:00am on Saturday June 20, 2009.
WHERE: The Kane boat ramp on the north side of the Causeway.
ELIGIBILITY: Tournament is limited to 60 teams on a first come first serve basis. Contestants must enter as a two person team. No changes to team may be made after 7:00am on Saturday June 20. Any person 14 or younger must be teamed with someone 18 years old or over. Each team member must sign this form. Each team member must have a current Wyoming fishing license. (You will be checked at the opening meeting by Wyo Game and fish).
ENTRY FEES AND DEADLINES: Entry fee is $50.00 per team. This will automatically enter your team into both the tournament and the Big Whiskers contests. Entries are non-refundable and may not be resold. Mail-in entries must be received by Thursday June 18, 2009. No entries will be accepted after 7:00am on June 20.
PAYMENT: Can be made by cash or check ($50.00). Make checks payable to;  FOBHL
Payments can be dropped off at: Horseshoe Bend Motel or sent to Joe Anderson 375 East Main St, Lovell, WY 82431.
MANDATORY MEETINGS: Will be held before and after the tournament. Opening meeting begins at precisely 7:00am. This meeting covers the rules and regulations of the tournament and Team ID’s. The second meeting begins exactly at 4:00pm. This will be the official weigh in and award presentation,
BOUNDARIES:BighornLake south narrows at day board marker 64 to the south end of the Yellowtail Wildlife Management Area. (see web site for maps) (water proof maps will be given out at tournament)
LIMITS: The limit is six (6) catfish per team. The total weight of all your catfish will determine who wins the tournament. (For example team #1 catches two catfish weighing a total of 8 lbs and Team #2 catches their limit of 6 cats weighing 7 lbs. Team #1 has more weight even though they failed to catch their limit). If a team is in possession of more than six catfish during the tournament or at the weigh in station they will be disqualified.
CATCH AND RELEASE: All of the catfish caught during the tournament hours will be released back into the Bighorn River. This will be considered a central live release contest for catfish.
WEIGH-IN: Starts at noon and no later than 4:00pm. If you have not arrived you will be disqualified. Fish MUST be alive! All dead fish will be discarded and not weighed. Tournament committee will determine whether a fish has been tampered with, altered in anyway or caught on a setline and will disqualify them if needed. NO STRINGERS will be allowed. You must have the fish in proper storage containers or coolers. Fish on stringers will not be weighed.
FISHING HOURS: Contestants can only fish during tournament hours. Pre-fishing is allowed up until Friday June 19, at 7:00pm. Tournament hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm.
BAIT: Any legal bait is allowed during the tournament.
TIES: The following will be used to break ties. The team that caught their limit of six catfish, if both teams caught their limit, it will then be awarded to the team with the heaviest catfish. The Big Whiskers contest will be split between the two teams if the weight of the catfish is the same.
PRIZES AND AWARDS: If less than 60 teams are entered, prizes will be reduced proportionally. Based on 60 teams, prizes will be awarded as listed on this application.
STATE AND LOCAL ORDINANCES: All state and /or local ordinances will be enforced. Violations will result in disqualification.
ALCOHOL: No alcohol will be allowed at the official weigh in station, any violators will be ask to leave.
IDENTIFICATION: Team ID must be worn and visible at all times.
PATROLS AND OFFICIALS: The tournament officials and security guards will consist of six individuals. At the weigh in station these individuals will be in charge of weighing in the fish, recording the weights, interviewing, etc. During the tournament hours there will be security patrol on the water and the land. These individuals will have the right to check your catch amount and approximate weight. They may also count rods and check for any illegal fishing tactics.
 
MORE RULES
 
*Boat – All boats will be washed prior to entering the water and after leaving the water.
*Team members must stay together, no splitting up at any time.
*Asking catfish security about other team’s weights is prohibited.
*No other people, but the two fisherman on the team are allowed at the fishing site anytime.
*No fishing within 100 yds of another team during the tournament hours.
*If you wish to fish on private property, seek permission from the landowner.
*Two rods per person.
*No pre-marked spots
*No trout lines, setlines or Seining Nets, etc.
